Opportunity
WEM has a rewarding opportunity for a Landscape Estimator to join the team on a full-time basis.
The Landscape Estimator plays a pivotal managerial role in the preparation of tender submissions and the successful delivery of project outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess tender documentation, specifications, and drawings to determine estimate requirements.
- Lead the tender process, ensuring accurate, timely, and competitive submissions are prepared.
- Develop and maintain tender documentation and files, including creating and organising contract and project records.
- Conduct site visits to understand project scope and prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Analyse labour, material, and time requirements, performing accurate quantity take-offs.
- Procure long-lead items at optimal pricing for project requirements.
- Track project costs, productivity, and variations, working closely with site and finance teams.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to source competitive pricing, evaluate contract bids and negotiate terms to ensure compliance with project requirements and contract documents.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders whilst overseeing their work progress and standards, to ensure projects are completed within time and budget.
- Organise, review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines.
- Monitor project progress, requisition change orders and identify potential risks for escalation.
- Regularly review tender submissions to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure professional, winning responses.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:
- Proven experience in estimating and project management within the landscape industry.
- Expertise in interpreting plans and drawings, bills of quantities, and a comprehensive understanding of industry-standard tender packages and processes.
- Certificate IV in Landscape Construction will be highly regarded
- Certificate III in Horticulture will be highly regarded
- Dynamic and proactive personality with a strong willingness to learn and a focus on delivering innovative solutions in a constantly evolving industry.
- Highly developed analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong planning, time management, and organisational capabilities.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, environment and quality standards and practices
- A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to use initiative
- Great communication and organisation skills, including strong attention to detail
- Strategic and analytical thinking skills with the ability to problem-solve
- The ability to be computer savvy, including the use of CRM-based applications, estimating software and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
